Privacy Policy

Being A Participant is operated by John Constantino II in San Francisco, California. This policy explains what this website collects and how it is used. It is written to be short and plain.

What we collect

When you sign up on this site, we collect your email address and the interests you choose: Earth Stewardship, The Practice, Retail Leadership, or the Qigong test group. We also note that you signed up through this website. This site does not ask for anything else.

If you email us, for example to request a seat in The Practice, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to arrange your participation.

How it is used

To send you updates about the interests you chose, and occasional news about Being A Participant and its projects.
To send one email asking you to confirm your subscription. You are not added to the list until you confirm.

We do not sell or rent your information.

If you join The Practice, you complete a short acceptance form with your name, your email, your agreement to the Participation Agreement and a separate answer about recording. John manages the responses in Google Workspace and uses them only to arrange your participation. They are not shared with other participants, and a copy is emailed to you.

Live sessions of The Practice are covered separately by the Participation Agreement, including how session recordings and notes are handled.

Who handles it

Kit (kit.com) stores the sign-up list and sends our emails, under its own privacy terms.
Cloudflare hosts this website, may process basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and protect it, and provides the visit counts described below.
Google Workspace handles our email, The Practice acceptance form and its responses, and the Google Meet calls, under Google’s own terms.
Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address when it does.

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, see which pages are read, and see which sites visitors arrive from, such as TikTok or LinkedIn. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. This site does not use advertising trackers or advertising cookies.

Your choices

Every email includes an unsubscribe link and a link to update your preferences.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing john@beingaparticipant.com. We may need to confirm the request comes from the address on the list.

Keeping it

We keep your information while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Kit keeps a record that you opted out so you are not emailed again.

Adults only

This site and its projects are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
